Most of the main leading characters in stories of this novel anthology are social outcasts in all sorts of backgrounds, ancient or modern, imaginative or real. My colleage, a Chinese teacher reading for his doctoral degree , told me that it's the trend of novel creation, which is against my expectation of elegant words and composition diversity. These stories are too gloomy and too heavy.
